Throughout history America has spawned Patriots, those men and women who were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, giving of their lives so that others could enjoy the freedoms upon which this country was built; the freedom of Religion, the freedom of Speech, the freedom of the Press, the freedom of Assembly, and the freedom of Petition, each guaranteed by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. A Patriot comes in many shapes and sizes. They all have one thing in common: Love of one's Country and for the values for which the Country stands. A person's patriotism is not determined through flag waving or chest pounding. Patriotism is determined through cherished values and basic principles upon which the nation is built.
