Built upon rocks or lofty hills near the shore along the seacoast of most lands, there are useful buildings. Many lighthouses and other beacons of light are still useful. They guide ships into harbor or point out the course they should steer. The latter warn of rocks and sands, on which ships may encounter damage or wreckage. However, there are other kinds of "lighthouses" and "beacons." They're in God's Word and the Bible. The Bible is a "lighthouse" that guides and leads us to a blessed life on earth, and to everlasting life in Heaven. The Bible is also a "beacon" to warm us, so we avoid becoming shipwrecked.
