My parents were both immigrants and I married the son of immigrants, each of us from different culture and religious experience. My world is a myriad of influences and tastes that have shaped me as I traveled and lived abroad. I have a huge appreciation for a variety of cultures in the world and in this diverse and vast land called the United States of America. Words and languages have always intrigued me and I have kept journals for many years of my life. It was only after my husband died that I began to write poems, first to assuage my intense grief and then some years later they became a vehicle to express my world as I was living it; a statement that I am here and this is “now.” I have written primarily for myself but if my words can touch anyone else, I am the larger for it. Thank you for sharing my moments.
